Tagging Stories with Color: Webtoon and Music

Heyo peeps…this has been sitting in my drafts waiting to be finished for a while now, but school sucks so I wasn’t able to finish it until now. Anyway, thank you to Annie from evening tea musings for tagging me in this challenge! I’m so excited so let’s just dive right in.

~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~

Rules

#1 Share your favorite stories—movies/books/anime/manga/drama/songs—by classifying them on these seven colors’ traits:

  • red: passionate, exciting, invigorating
  • blue: peaceful, calming
  • pink: romantic, caring
  • orange: warm, motivating
  • black: mysterious, thrilling
  • green: fresh, unexpected
  • white: random

#2 Send this challenge invitation to at least one of your friends. Let them fear your superiority, as you—decide their fate.

#3 Link back to the original post here! And, enjoy!

Note: It’s always recommended for you to thank (or link back to) the people who nominated you, but if you think there’s already an unbreakable bond between you and the challengers, then feel free to drop the courtesy.

~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~

Word of caution I struggled with categorizing and explaining a lot of these.

Red

For red I decided to focus on the word ✨passionate✨ as I wasn’t sure what could be considered more invigorating than being inspired by another person’s passion. While reading both Gourmet Hound and Annarasumanara I was inspired by their love for cooking and magic respectively.

Gourmet Hound” (by Leehama) tells the story of Lucy and the ex-chefs of her favorite restaurant, Diamche. It all starts off when the kitchen staff changes and the cooking that Lucy used to love disappears. She then sets out on the journey to rediscover that “perfect taste.”

Her journey is full of her own passion for food and the passion of the chefs’ that surround her. As the reader you receive a sample of the passion a person feels when they love what they do. It’s a lovely story that I highly recommend.

Do you believe in magic? That’s the question that is most prominent in “Annarasumanara” (by Ilkwon Ha). It follows the story of Yun Ah-ee, the magician (L), and Na Il-Dung. Ah-ee rediscovers her belief in magic when she meets L. L shares his passion for magic with her and gives magic back to her. The story often refers to being trapped on an asphalt road of expectations, but with their passion for magic they are able to break free from others expectations.

Really this story tells the readers to follow their dreams and to make their own paths. As a reader you get to see how having passion in life can be the most important thing. I highly recommend it as it can really change some perspectives.

Blue

I really struggled with this category, I just wasn’t sure what was calming or peaceful because I hardly ever listen to mellow music I’d rather drown my thoughts out with rock music. I guess I’m never really relaxed lol.

Don’t Run Away” is an OST for A-Teen, one of my favorite k-dramas from Playlist Global. It’s sung by Motte who’s voice is so calming, it lulls me into a sense of security. The song’s lyrics sing of trusting others and not pushing people away. It’s a really beautiful song that I adore and recommend.

Little Rain” (by Mai) is a new feature to Webtoon and it’s very calming. Not much of the storyline is known yet but it follows unlucky Lisa and her cat Rain who’s a guardian angel with memory loss.

The colors are really mellow tones and the background ambience is everything. In each episode, so far, there’s background music that varies with different weather ambiences and white noises. This has elevated “Little Rain” from it’s time in Discover. I highly recommend it if you need something relaxing to read.

~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~

Pink

I absolutely adore “#muted” (by kandismon) with Jasper and Kai. It starts with Jasper meeting Kai, a boy who doesn’t speak. As they face the trials and tribulations of a relationship Jasper does his best to support Kai. Their story is a lovely but realistic romance with ups and downs but still full of caring. It melts my heart and the art style is beautiful. Highly recommend!

It can be found in the Discover/Canvas section of Webtoon.

You & Me (Thanks AROHA)” comes from ASTRO’s special album Winter Dream. It’s one of the songs I put on when I feel down and need to smile. It just makes me feel so cared for and appreciated.

It’s an upbeat song that’s dedicated to AROHA, ASTRO’s fans. The lyrics talk about how happy their fans make them and recollecting upon fond memories. It also thanks their fans for supporting them and how in the future they hope to make us smile.

~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~

Orange

Crumbs” (by Whithering) takes place in a world where magic is the norm and getting a slice of romance isn’t too hard. The story follows a young seer named Ray and with her order of hot tea and a slice of romance, we meet Laurie, a familiar face at the bakery Ray loves. Love is in the air as Ray and Laurie learn how to balance a relationship and their dreams.

I absolutely love this webtoon, it just gives such a warm feeling. Ray and Laurie’s relationship offers the wholesomeness of having a crush and the warmth that comes with a caring partner. They motivate each other to follow their dreams and support decisions made even when they don’t totally agree. It’s just so cute and I just love the idea of magic being normalized. I totally recommend reading it!

Seventeen’s song “My My” from their mini album Heng:garæ tells us that everything’s okay. It’s motivating and comforting all at once. It ensures listeners that it’s okay to move at their own pace and that where they are in life is just fine. While also encouraging listeners to reach for their dreams and to make their own path in life.

A few of my favorite lines are:

  • “Nothing’s set in stone”
  • “No need to rush, you’re doing fine”
  • “Just stay as you are”

~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~

Black

Purple Hyacinth” (by Ephemerys / Sophism) is a thrilling mystery that follows Lauren, a police officer who can detect lies, as she teams up with Kieran, a deadly assassin, to bring down a notorious crime organization that connects a to a gruesome event that haunts Lauren’s past.

The twists, turns, and constant danger of this webtoon keeps readers on their toes. Cliffhangers are deadly and keep you wanting more. The art is also really lovely, with striking color. I would definitely recommend it!

I was really conflicted when deciding where to put this song, I almost put it into the green category. I think that the concept is just so cool, but I ultimately decided that it belonged here because of it’s mysterious tones and background story.

DONGKIZ’s song “LUPIN” is upbeat and smooth, heavily referencing the gentleman thief, Arsène Lupin. With the Netflix series “Lupin” (Totally recommend watching, in the original French w/subs, of course) I’ve fallen even more in love with this song. The choreo is also so cool, I’ve watched the dance versions so many times because I just couldn’t get my mind around the magic acts they incorporated into it! O.o I definitely recommend watching it, even if only to see how smoothly they did the moves that involved the magic acts.

~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~

Green

This category was rather hard for me to find a song for so I only have a webtoon. :/

Blades of Furry” (by Deya Muniz / Emily Erdos) is a webtoon I never knew I needed. The story heavily involves the sport of Skate Battles, a mix of figure skating and martial arts. We follow up-and-coming skater Emile and his relationship with the famous senior skater Radu. In a match between the two, Emile discovers a secret that could ruin Radu. Which sends the two spiraling into cahoots and love?

Though fairly new with only 26 episodes, I adore Emile and Radu. The plot and universe it lives in is so unique and refreshing! I also find the idea of Skate Battles so interesting, it’d be so cool to watch irl. 10/10 would recommend!

~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~

White

I just really love these webtoons, they are HILARIOUS. Both can be found in the canvas section, previously known as discover.

Here’s The SHITuation” (by Daica.) is the story of 4 amazing friends, adorable ships, and their shenanigans. We follow Robyn, a fangirl for dramas and their clichés, as she tries to get her best friend Irene, a cat lover, together with Edison, a shy cat owner. Ian, a romance skeptic, and Edison’s best friend comes along for the ride. Who knows what will happen next?

Humor Me” (by Marvin.W) follows Charlie as she just tries to get through high school and life while taking care of her younger brother. It doesn’t help that her school does allow jobs, everyone thinks she’s a guy (though maybe that’s a positive?), and famous James Hardford thinks she’s stalking him.

It has been a journey finishing up this blog post. I’ve had loads of fun but gosh it has taken me forever to finish it and I’m so sorry for that. Also if I tagged you, I hope you have fun completing this tag!!

P.S. None of the photos are mine besides the featured image.

I did a thing…

Hi! So it’s really late at night for me, 12:33 am to be precise, and I have done a thing. I also have homework I really need to do so I’m going to keep this shortish…

Basically I have a youtube channel now. O.o

Yeah, I know I can barely keep up with blogging and now a youtube channel…I’m insane. But the idea of turning my poems into Spoken Word Poetry has been floating in my head since I first listened to a video from luna poems. (She’s great >_<)

So yeah…my first video…check it out maybe? Don’t hate on me please…I am a nervous wreck that can’t really take criticism.

Until we meet again…have all my love ❤

2 Years + 1 Month of Wandering

2 years and 1 month! Can I believe it? Nope! Is it true? Apparently??

I am so happy I still have this blog, even though I haven’t posted recently. Considering that a while ago I thought about deleting my blog, I think that the fact I’m now proud of it is worth a lot.

I still can’t believe I missed my actual 2 year anniversary, but time isn’t really relevant anymore…is it? I’ve spent my entire, well almost entire sophomore year online, it’s crazy. I think I’ve grown quite a bit, though I’m not sure how that will help my poetry writing seeing that I haven’t written anything new recently. Which is kind of sad, but I’m working on it. The summer time will be when I post more, hopefully. 🙂

Looking Back…

I had 3 hopes from my post last year and I’ve completed 2.

  1. I hope to keep up writing poems but I feel that I have hit a writer’s block. ✔️
  2. I plan to find a name for my egg person.
  3. I will have more adventures that I will be able to share. ✔️

I was able to write a handful of poems that I’m pretty proud of like…”Sweet Spinning” and “Skies.” I like all my poems, so feel free to check them out after reading this post!

My egg person unfortunately still does not have a name, but if you have any suggestions I am open to ideas!

Our picnic set up, so aesthetic (Photo by me)

I have had more adventures and they’ve been great! I’ve gone hiking, picnicking and movie nights with friends, volunteering, and going out of my comfort zone. I joined my school’s newspaper staff this year and that definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone. As a result, I’ve gotten more comfortable emailing others and taking pictures of school events. I also tried out and loved a new category in speech and debate. I currently do Duo Interpretation with one of my best friends, where we learn and perform a script. I absolutely love performing and have become much more extroverted. I’ve had tons of fun and plan to do more next year, maybe I’ll blog about it?

Future Hopes!

  1. I hope to do more posts outside of poetry.
  2. I want to post regularly, at least once a week.
  3. I want to add more pictures or something to my posts, I feel like my posts are just a bunch of words and that’s understandable for poetry but for everything else I want to add more ✨color✨.

Until we meet again…

I can’t wait to see what the future holds. This year has been great so far, I’ve meet a handful of new people and I’ve interacting with other blogs on WordPress more!

I hope that everyone stays safe, healthy, and happy! Do things for yourself, you deserve it! Thank you all for being here!!

2 Years of Wandering + 26 days

It’s currently May 16th, 2021 but I’ll probably post this 3 or something days from now so that it’s officially “and 1 month.”

But, I just realized I missed my own 2 year anniversary, and I’m pretty sad about it. Or maybe I’ll post an actual post of like goals and stuff on my 2 year + 1 month anniversary :/ Yeah, I’m going to do that, post this now and make an actual post later because I feel like acknowledging that I remembered right now at like 12:30am…yupp.

I will also be posting my stories with color tag post soon, hopefully at the end of this week, maybe if school is nice to me. Wow…this was really just an update middle of the night post.

Until we meet again…in the middle of the night lol

Wandered right into a tag …or two

Heyo peeps, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted but I can explain. I’ve had the worst case of writers block, and all the poems I have been able to write I couldn’t post because they were for a school contest and yeahhh. Anyway, I am so excited to do this post because this is the first time I’ve ever been nominated for a tag! Thank you to Pavithra from Small Talks for nominating me! I must admit I haven’t read a lot of her posts, but the ones I have read are amazing, so check out her blog!

Questions

1. What kind of music do you listen to and why?

I like to think that I listen to a wide spectrum of music, but I often find myself listening to pop, kpop, indie pop, some light rock, musical soundtracks, and classical pieces. Heh, that’s a lot of pop, but I’m not very good at identifying music genres. I often listen to kpop because of the meaning behind the lyrics and a lot of my favorite songs are kpop so…yeahhh.

2. What is your favorite quote? Why do you like it?

I had the hardest time picking a quote but I finally settled on,

“You say ‘amateur’ as if it’s a dirty word. ‘Amateur’ comes from the latin word ‘amare’, which means to love. To do things for the love of it.”

Mozart in the Jungle

Currently it is my favorite quote because I am always really self conscious about trying new things. I have tons of interests but I find myself not pursing them because I’m too scared of not being good at it and embarrassing myself in front of others. This quote is a reminder to me that it’s okay to do things just because I love it or I’m interested in it, and I don’t need to be exceptionally good at it.

3. How do you handle stress or anxiety?

I bake, write a poem, or text my friends. No matter what I end up doing there will always be music involved.

4. Are you a inside or outside person?

I thought I was more of an inside person, but maybe I’m a bit of both. Like I don’t like hiking, but I don’t totally hate the beach or parks, but I like being at a library or mall more than the nature scenes…so idk.

5. (Random ques) what did you searched last in your Google!?

My last Google search was for a hot rod and classic car show at Pearlridge. Basically, there was a car show at this mall I was at and I wanted to know more about it, like it would end at a certain time…that search gave me nothing but I did get to see the cars so, yay! Fun fact: I think that classic cars are just so cool, and I wish I could have one…even though I don’t know how to drive yet lol

  2. Flicker – I-LAND Ver.
  3. POP/STARS – K/DA

My Questions

  1. Have you ever done anything because you were scared you’d be missing out? (FOMO)
  2. Do you often do things just because your friends or someone close to you is doing it?
  3. Have you ever felt uneasy about giving your opinion simply because it would be unpopular?
  4. Do you ever find yourself running away from popular things because you don’t want to be labelled as “basic?”
  5. (Random question) What’s your dream job?

1 Year of Wandering…

I can’t believe that it has already been a year…so much has changed. The world that everyone is in and my own bubble world have changed quite a bit. We are currently in a pandemic, the current school year has been transferred online and who knows when life will go back to normal.

What else has happened for me within this year of wandering?

Well, I am now a high schooler. When I first started this blog I was in middle school, how I wish to be back there. My first year of high school hasn’t been the smoothest, but I suppose most people feel this way about high school. All I can hope is that it will get better and yet I am definitely aware that it might not.

I am writing more poetry now on my blog rather then just blurbs of thoughts that are on my mind. Rather there are now poems that come from my thoughts.

Future hopes…

What will come next in this new year of wandering?

  1. I hope to keep up writing poems but I feel that I have hit a writer’s block.
  2. I plan to find a name for my egg person.
  3. I will have more adventures that I will be able to share.

Hopefully life as we know it will return to normal soon. I know that it probably won’t but it never hurts to hope. We all need a little hope, don’t we? Life is hard but I sure hope that it will all result in something positive.

Well until we met again…

Baking, Pancake Flops and more!

Hey guys, for some reason or another I always seem to find myself writing blogs in the middle of the night. Maybe it’s because I find peace within the silence and calm music or maybe it’s because I save my feelings until a time where no one is around to see them. Whatever it may be, tonight I felt like blogging.

In the midst of what is happening, I have gotten bored being stuck inside. I am sure that many people can agree with me, but has their boredom led to a need to make a soufflé pancake? Probably not. Being confined inside has resulted in the development of a craving for soufflé pancakes and the need to be able to prove that I can make it. The desire is simply overwhelming. They look so fluffy and sound absolutely delicious… just look at them…

Not my image or my pancakes 😭

Unfortunately I have yet to successfully make a soufflé pancake but I feel extremely close. I have attempted to create the fluffy masterpieces twice, and I have failed both times. Yesterday, I screwed up mixing in my egg whites and today, my egg whites just did not want to peak. These things are all probably my fault but, “Oh well” 🤷🏽‍♀️. My failures just make me so much more eager to try again. I am certain that I will succeed on my third attempt, like they say “Third times the charm.” Let’s hope whoever said that is right 😊.

On a more successful note, I made my very first cream puffs and they are simply delectable. I was so happy that they turned out delicious, and my little brother loves them. What made it even more exciting is that I made it from scratch all by myself. I love the satisfaction of having made the food myself and having people enjoy it. Of course, I had to follow a couple recipes but it still counts. Not everyone can be baking geniuses and create their own recipes. This does make me think about how I would love to try my hand at creating my own recipe, as it sounds like a lot of fun.

The making of the cream puffs was actually a two day process. The first day I made the pastry cream and on the second day I made the cream puff shells. I can confirm that it was totally worth it! Look at how amazing they turned out!

Wow

I don’t want to toot my own horn, but *toot toot*, like dang my photo and first attempt cream puffs look amazing. I am seriously proud of both my baking and photography skills. The lighting, arrangement, it’s just so beautiful *pretends to wipe tears from eyes*.

Now that I have gushed over my latest craving and baking success, let’s talk a little about what is happening now around us. I realise that I may have skipped over it like it was nothing in the beginning but honestly it is a really big deal.

I am seriously uneducated on what is happening with the progress of moving forward if it has nothing to do with school, so bear with me. Since I have nothing much to offer in news about COVID-19, which I shouldn’t have to educate you on since knowledge is a simple click away, I can encourage you to stay safe and healthy. Make sure to wash your hands often and practice social distancing. Besides being completely safe, I can agree that it is boring being inside so instead of starring at an electronic screen take this time and learn something new or check something off of your long to do list or bucket list. Honestly I should take my own advice, because I have watched one too many youtube videos during this time.

Stay safe and until we meet again…
